About Scapely

Built by a pool builder. For builders.

Scapely started inside a working Louisiana pool company. We needed software that didn't exist, so we built it.

02 · The story

We stopped asking for features and started building.

Derek Duplessis runs Duplessis Pools, a high-volume pool builder in the Baton Rouge area. For five years the company ran on the same software most builders use. Design in one program, quotes in another, contracts in a third, purchasing in a spreadsheet, and the books in QuickBooks.

Nothing talked to anything. Every job got typed in four or five times. Homeowners waited a week for a price, and a lot of them signed with whoever answered first.

In 2024 Duplessis switched to pool packages with upfront pricing, and sales jumped from $7M to $13M the next year. Then we put those prices on the website, let homeowners design their own pool, and built the tools to quote, sign and order from one place. That became Scapely.

"I ran Duplessis Pools on the industry-standard software for five years. I kept asking for the same features. Then I stopped asking and started building."
Derek Duplessis, Founder

03 · What we believe

Builders should build. Software should do the busy work.

The shift

Software is being rebuilt for AI.

Old construction software is forms and menus. AI-native software reads what you describe, drafts the work and hands it back for approval.

The villain

Legacy software with AI bolted on.

A chatbot on a 2012 database still makes you retype the job six times. The record has to be one record first.

Our rule

Scapely drafts. You approve.

AI never publishes a price, sends a PO or signs anything on its own. Every draft waits for a person.

The old way

  • Design in one program, quote in another
  • A price a week later, by email
  • Contract retyped by hand
  • Bills coded after the money is spent

The Scapely way

  • Homeowner designs and prices on your site
  • Quote, sign and deposit in one visit
  • Takeoff, POs and bill checks drafted by AI
  • One job record from dream to final bill

Operators and engineers

Pools first. Then the whole backyard.

The team is pool operators and software engineers in the same room. Pools are live today. Outdoor kitchens and patios are next on the same job record.

04 · A separate company

Scapely is a separate company from Duplessis Pools.

Your pricing, margins and leads are private, including from Duplessis personnel. Access controls, audit logs and written terms keep it that way.

Want the written terms?Data separation, access and audit are spelled out in the terms you sign.
